The Prism Pendulum and Board
What is it?
The Prism Pendulum Board is a piece I sculpted digitally and 3D printed in Resin. The letters and symbols are hand-inked in silver and then the board is polished and glazed to a fine sheen.
It is a multidimensional take on the traditional pendulum board, both literally and figuratively. I used geometric shapes that expand from the center to create the crystalline form and there are small feet on the bottom for stability. In the center is a pyramid with four sides representing the four elements: air, fire, water, and earth. The elements then direct you outward towards the signs which represent them and guidance from each. The guidance they provide is based on their traditional correspondences in both astrology and tarot.
You can of course use the board more traditionally by looking to the 6 pointed stars in the center with the standard yes, no, and rephrase answers.
The Pendulum itself is created with an aurora borealis Asfour crystal prism that refracts light into rainbows. It is set on a light, lavender-colored chain, and finished with resin accents (cap and star) that match the board color.
How to Use it?
There are many ways to use a pendulum board and everyone has their own practice. These are my suggestions on how to get the most out of mine.
Place your board on a flat, even surface with lost of sunlight.
Align it so that the symbol for earth points north.
Take a few deep breaths and try to relax.
Dangle the pendulum above the board with the tip just above the apex of the center.
Try to stay as still as possible while breathing deeply.
Ask your question either aloud or in your mind.
Watch for movement and try to take note of the direction it starts in. You may miss this and that’s ok. You can also read between the two directions and either intuit the one that feels right to you or find a middle ground.
I’ve updated the design of this classic divination tool to include not only yes or no answers, but expand upon them with additional guidance from the elements and the stars.
The elements suggest the kind of energy you should approach the matter with.
Fire = with passion and creativity
Water = with emotion and intuition
Air = with intellect and analysis
Earth = with practicality and grounding
The astrological guidance can provide you with advice and a direction to start in.
You can ask your question once, or up to 3 times to get a unique answer from each tier and deeper reading.
